The girls’ golf team, defending Class AAAAAA champions, gained another decisive victory last Saturday at the West Hall Invitational at Chateau Elan, scoring a record-breaking 213. Senior Kayley Marschke was the low medalist of the team, having only 70 points.

The golfers have been on a roll all season, starting off with a check in the win column at the Lady Wolves Invitational. Senior Lauren Lightfritz received a low medal for her score of 71, and received the score of 76 at the West Hall Invitational.

On March 7th, the Lady Longhorns shot an impressive 59 to win a match at Summit Chase Country Club, and were lead by teammates Tiffany Kang, Kate Owens, Lightfritz, and Marshcke.

The team is stacked with high-caliber athletes, and both Marschke and Lightfritz are committed to play golf in college.

This year, the girls are going for a fourth state title in a row, and judging by the success they’ve achieved thus far in the season, I’d say that trophy is not so far out of reach.
