Freshman Rush

Andrew Gray, Staff Writer

Fall Rush is a new event here at Lambert High School put together by Mr. Smith, to show off the various clubs and extracurricular activities available to students outside of their regular academic lives. The event took place in the cafeteria and many clubs were spread throughout it for the freshmen to take a look at, learn about, and get an idea as to what Lambert is all about: the positive student life.

Various clubs were up for display at Lambert, a few include Lambert Fencing, Debate Team, Technology Student Association (TSA), HOSA, DECA, and a large collection of others. The freshmen were able to walk through during IF, look at clubs and talk to their members, pick up a couple flyers, and learn a thing or two about some of the extracurriculars available. I asked a few freshmen what they thought of the whole thing and the majority of what they had to say was that it was ‘hectic.’ The freshmen were constantly moving through the clubs’ tables to make sure everyone could see each one (due to the high population), it inevitably left an air of chaos.

Although the event did allow freshmen an inside look into the new clubs, the Fall Rush certainly could see some improvements. But, as it was its first year, the event proved to be very helpful for freshmen who are trying to become involved within the school.
