If you’re interested in Celtic culture, Irish dancing, orchestral music and/or horses, the Celtic Canter Celebration will prove to be an excellent Saturday night activity for you. In fact, our own Lambert High School orchestra is performing alongside Irish dancers from the Drake School of Irish Dance during the local Celtic festival in Cumming, Georgia. The festival is being held outside to benefit the organization Save the Horses, which creates bonds between abandoned or abused horses and adopted or foster children. When asked about the event, leading second violinist Rachel Kenney says, “I’m excited to play at such a beautiful venue, and for a great cause too!”

Aside from music and dancing, there will also be games, food, face-painting, a silent auction, a showing of the animated film Brave, and pictures with Bravo, a featured horse that has a striking resemblance to Merida’s horse in the movie, Angus.

Come on out and support the Lambert Orchestra Saturday night, September 27, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and it is expected to draw in a significant crowd. Tickets are available online on Facebook (via the Barn Buddy Program at Save the Horses). All proceeds will go to the Barn Buddy Program and in the end, benefit both the children and the horses.
