It was snowing outside and I wanted to get a picture, but I didnt have a phone or camera. I noticed my laptops camera and decided to use that. Problem is, its front-facing, so i had to lean it awkwardly to get a picture. The camera, being low-quality, distorted the image a bit, but it ended up looking better than anything I couldve captured on a phone. -Quinn Forney

Adventure is worth while in itself -Amelia Earhart

This picture describes an adventure itself. This is when I started to get the hang of wake boarding. It started with lots of attempts of falling and trying my best but then it clicked. I started getting up and moving in and out of the wake like I knew what I was doing. By the end of the day I was getting little jumps down, and to think I was against trying it all along at the start of the day. -Jake Alesia

On Truth

Will Harper, Student Submission, 11th Grade May 2, 2016

This was a shot I took in Ireland 4 years ago. We stopped by this abandoned church and its accompanying graveyard on our way to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. I really enjoyed the imagery of the stony chapel against the verdant green backdrop. The odd quiet that seemed to envelop the area while the wind whistled in my ears was peace at its best. -Joe Sweeney

My Photography class went to downtown Atlanta and took photos. Everyone overlooked the nearby fountain, but I saw beauty in it and took some pictures. People never see the hidden beauties around them and they miss opportunities like my opportunity to take this picture. -Lael White

Everyone knows how inspiring, romantic, & Instagram worthy sunsets can be, but most of us only make time for them when we are on vacation, as if that peaceful, beautiful moment can only occur when we are in an exotic place. In reality, the sun sets every single day, no matter where you are. You can easily infuse some wonder & awe into your regular routine by walking out onto your back porch after dinner and be reminded of all the things you have to be thankful for, like I did in this picture. -Taylor Foggie

As I look down on the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu, I am filled with emotion I can only imagine is similar to what it feels like to conquer the world. Nothing could have prepared me for this moment; no pictures that I had seen of the ruins could compare to beauty that was before me. I am at a loss for words because this is the most incredible thing I have ever seen. Misty clouds cling to the Andean Peaks and green mountains are below me, making me feel like I am in a mystical jungle. -Laura Chamblee

This older woman asked to be allowed to paint within the art museum in D.C. and I was fortunate enough to witness her painting an exact replica of this famous painting. She has a true talent and would rather paint for the joy of it without being considered a professional and without seeking fame.

During a mission trip to the Dominican Republic last on spring break, little Addi started out shy and hiding in the corner. This was the first time she broke through her wall and let herself have fun. Ultimately, I think this picture represents the joy everyone has inside them but few ever truly express. -Molly Williams
