DECA Tailgate

Grace Mohr, Co-Editor-in-Chief

It’s Homecoming week which means DECA is in full swing for their 5th annual tailgate. Last year DECA raised $6,000 for the American Cancer Society but this year they decided to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through Serve for a Cure. Not only will DECA be raising money for JDRF at the tailgate but they will continue their efforts throughout the year by hosting and coordinating the Miss LHS Pageant and the Prom Fashion Show. The mission of JDRF is to find the cure for type 1 diabetes through research which effects students here at Lambert. Student Council supports DECA as well as JDRF for this event. The event starts at 5:00 to 6:30 between the front of Lambert and the student parking lot on October 10th. This event will include live music as well as meals from the Varsity Food Truck. There will be a volleyball tournament underway so enjoy the game or participate in the action. There will be a dunk tank where you can donate money to dunk your favorite teachers and administrators. In addition, Great Harvest has donated baked goods to sell in support of JDRF. So come join the fun by attending the tailgate to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and to get pumped for some Longhorn Football!
