Time Management

Time Management

Andrew Gray, Staff Writer

Of course time management is a very important skill to have in high school and in life in general, but a lot of Lambert’s freshmen and sophomores have yet to develop their skills in time management; many of the students in the tenth or ninth grade have yet to even buy an agenda or a time management planner. The school stresses that you need to be organized with both your physical items like binders, pencils, school supplies, etc. and the teachers themselves often mention how you need to plan your schedule to be prepared to study for their material; however students are not truly aware of how to manage all seven periods’ worth of studying, homework and projects.

One of the best things you can do to get more organized is to buy an agenda or some other time management ledger, and keep track of what you have done and what you have not done. ALWAYS plan breaks in your schedules so that you can be prepared for a due date being pushed back or you getting sick or having to restart a significant portion of your work. The teachers are also your friends when it comes to your schedule and the assignments you need to turn in. For instance, if you are totally bogged down one week and your teacher has a paper due on the same day you have a couple tests, as well as having other tests to study that week, honestly ask them for an extension early. They will probably grant it because the teachers do not want you to fail, and almost all of Lambert’s dedicated staff is very willing to assist you during a rough week.
