Last Friday night the Lambert Longhorns played at Centennial High School. The Longhorns started the game strong with an interception by Houston Earnest deep in Centennial territory. However, the game was delayed for 1 hour due to lightning in the area. Lambert came out of the break strong with a touchdown by Lambert running back Drew Cole. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 7-0 Lambert. The Longhorns and the Knights fought back and forth for control of the ball for a majority of the second quarter. Finally, running back Trevor O’Brien scored a touchdown. After a short turnover, O’Brien had another long run which led to a touchdown by running back Hunter Sheperd, giving Lambert a commanding 21 to nothing lead. However, on the last play of the half, Centennial scored their first touchdown. The final score of the half was 21-7 Lambert. Centennial scored another touchdown quickly after halftime ended. Centennial recovered a Lambert fumble, but after a short drive, Centennial threw an interception to Justin Jean-Felix. Lambert struggled to maintain possession of the ball for most of the fourth quarter, and Centennial soon scored 2 touchdowns. The final score of the game was 21-28 Centennial.
