The “Time’s Up” pin was worn by many celebrities in support of sexual assault victims.

The 2018 Golden Globes, hosted by Seth Meyers, featured notable movies and TV shows from the previous year with winners including “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” for Best Motion Picture, drama and “Lady Bird” for Best Motion Picture, musical or comedy. Not only did the night feature many significant movies, but it also featured many celebrities taking a stance on the recent sexual misconduct in Hollywood.

The Golden Globe winners include Guillermo del Toro as Best Director for his movie, “The Shape of Water”, as well as “The Handmaid’s Tale” for Best Television Series, drama and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” for Best Television Series, musical or comedy. The Disney movie “Coco” won Best Motion Picture, animated while the Best Original Song, motion picture was given to “This is Me” from the movie “The Greatest Showman.”

Aside from awards, the night gained significance in its message against sexual misconduct seen in Hollywood through the recent months. A majority of celebrities wore “Times Up” pins and black clothing in support of those affected by sexual harassment and gender inequality in Hollywood. “Times Up” is described as a group that “addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential,” according to the official website.

The 2018 Golden Globes was filled with inspiring speeches and amusing moments. Not only did it celebrate the year’s best movies and shows, but it celebrated a step forward in the previously unspoken issues of Hollywood.
