Fun facts about the Pink Fairy Armadillo:

• The Pink Fairy Armadillo is the smallest, known Armadillo species; their body length can range from 90 to 115 millimeters 
• The shell’s pink hue comes from underlying blood vessels
• Their shell is more used for thermoregulation than protective armor because of how fragile it is
• Their huge claws cause them to struggle walking on hard surfaces, so they dig instead and stay about 6 inches underneath the ground while returning to the surface for only a few moments
