A #1 New York Times Beststeller for eight weeks, Gone Girl, written by Gillian Flynn, will hit the big screen on October 3rd. The story features ordinary husband and writer, Nick Dunne, whose world starts to unravel when he loses his job as a journalist. Despite desperately trying to fix a failing marriage and making the decision to move to his childhood hometown of Missouri, Nick’s life receives a final blow when his wife, Amy, abruptly goes missing. Endlessly hounded by the media, Nick is seen as the primary suspect, even by his in-laws. When the entire world has already chosen a murder suspect, who else is left to be interrogated and inspected?

The film is directed by David Fincher, who has also directed Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, both arguably successful movies. In fact, Peter Travers of Rolling Stone magazine said that viewers can “expect a stampede at the box office.” Likewise, critic Chris Nashawaty from Entertainment Weekly says, “Anyone who loved Gone Girl the book will walk out of Gone Girl the movie with a sick grin on their face.” Starring Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, Rosamund Pike as Nick’s wife, Amy Dunne, and Neil Patrick Harris as Desi Collings, Gone Girl is expected to get rave reviews from even the harshest of critics.
