The members of the Indian Cultural Society (ICS) are striving to achieve their goal of maximum student connectivity and have planned to kickstart their celebrations with a night filled with music and dance.
On October 8, ICS is pleased to inaugurate the festival of Navaratri with their annual Garba Night. This well known Indian holiday is celebrated over the course of nine days, worshiping and honoring several of the Hindu gods and goddesses.
The Garba event is being hosted at Lambert High School from 7-10 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring their family members and friends for an evening of festivities. Tickets can be purchased on GoFan.com for $5.
“Garba is simply such an eventful and fun event which brings the community together,” Riya Shah, the President of ICS, stated. “It’s filled with dancing, music, and the overall vibe of it is just unbeatable compared to any other event. In an effort to make such a large-scale event possible, members of the Indian Cultural Society have devoted months of planning and preparation, including carefully selecting catering services and an exclusive DJ.
Lambert’s Indian Cultural Society and the overall appreciation of Indian culture and heritage continues to grow with each one of the club’s events. The club seeks to establish connections between students who cherish Indian culture in several different ways.
“I hope to spread our diverse culture and bring together our student body and community,” Shah stated. “Through the events we host, I want students to gain insight into Indian culture as well as spread it to the people around them.”
ICS hopes to see several students show their pride by dressing up in Indian attire for a truly unforgettable night.
