Lambert High School’s Student Council (STUCO) hosted its annual Trunk-or-Treat celebration this past weekend, featuring a variety of clubs, activities and fun for all ages. The event involved Lambert clubs and organizations decorating and designing car trunks, with many setting up games and activities for attendees. As a whole, the event fostered both school and Halloween spirit while bringing the community together through student-led efforts.
“Trunk-or-Treat takes many aspects into making Halloween really fun, like decorating for people who really enjoy decorating trunks, handing out candy to all the kids, and then the kids themselves really enjoying getting candy,” Lambert senior and STUCO member Ethan Nam explained. “That’s so cool to see all these aspects come together at a Trunk-or-Treat event.”
Members of various clubs also utilized the event to introduce younger students to the extracurricular possibilities in their future at Lambert. Trunk-or-Treat’s lighthearted atmosphere coupled with the wide range of academic clubs and activities on offer created an engaging introduction to potential interests for many participants.
“It’s about showing these kids…any of these clubs and showing them off in a way that they can take in and also have fun with,” Nam said. “Kids won’t find interest in something like a club rush event because they’re all elementary [school]…but when they see something like ‘superhero’ plus some club, they’re going to be more hooked.”
This initiative is sure to grow in the years to come as clubs expand their offerings and the event itself continues to blossom as an engaging community outing.
Trunk-or-Treat fostered fun for all age groups while showing off Lambert’s array of clubs and its deep Halloween spirit, paving the way for an engaging celebration for all.
