Prom season has arrived, and excitement is in the air as students prepare for one of the most memorable nights of the year. This year’s prom, themed “A City of Stars,” promises an evening full of sparkle, elegance and unforgettable moments.
Ana Campos Seixas, the prom and homecoming chair of the Lambert Student Council, shared the extensive preparations that are needed to plan this big event.
“We actually started planning back in November,” Seixas said. “That first meeting was just to get a general idea of the theme and see if anyone had any specific ideas they wanted to include.”
From there, the committee worked closely with other school groups, including the administration to handle the budgeting and costs.
“Everyone had such great ideas—it was hard to choose just one,” Seixas explained. “But we ended up creating a mix of everything, and our decorator really helped bring the vision to life.”
While the student council does not handle all aspects of prom, such as the food or music, they play a big part in making prom a success. Whether it be deciding the theme or helping plan the spirit week leading up to the big night.
“I’m most excited to see all of our ideas come together,” Seixas said. “We’ve put in a lot of work, and we hope it pays off.”
The student council try to get feedback from other students, with both positive remarks and points for improvement offered. Some students have had concerns about ticket prices or details, but many have shown appreciation for the efforts behind the scenes.
“It’s sad when not everyone is happy, but hearing how excited others are really makes it worth it,” Seixas said.
Morgan Coward is a senior who is excited for prom night.
“I’m most excited to see everyone’s dresses.” Coward said. “I love the theme and I’m so thankful for all the work the student government put in.”
For Coward and other seniors, prom is more than just a dance—it’s a final celebration before graduation.
“Prom is the second to last senior event before we graduate, and I am really looking forward to making memories there,” Coward said.
Prom 2025 is shaping up to be a beautiful night under the stars. Whether students are going for the music, the photos or just to soak it all in, this prom is set to be one to remember.
