The year is ending and The Lambert Post has had a productive and fruitful year, with the two main projects being the printed newspaper in January and the Senior Send Off in May, as well as many articles being published every month for News, Features, Sports and Arts and Entertainment. Lots of episodes on the podcast were released this year as well, covering a wide range of topics. Although many members of the Post are unfortunately leaving this year for new journeys, with the upcoming Editor in Chief, Joshua Mui, the Post will continue to prosper and grow next year. Mui joined the Post his freshman year, and has loved it more every year, especially the involvement with the Lambert community.
“My favorite part is being able to go around school and talk with different students and staff to hear their opinions and stories,” Mui said. “Also being able to be more involved and in-the-know.”
Next year, Mui is taking on the new role as Editor in Chief, and he has some goals for the Post to achieve in order to make next year even better.
“I want us to just find a place of stability where we can lay down infrastructure and find ourselves in a good place,” Mui emphasized. “So that in two to four years we’re still in a good place where we have the foundations in our writing skills, our program and just how we generally do things.”
While looking ahead is certainly important, Mui likes to cherish his favorite memories as a member of the Post the last few years as well.
“The first time we did the printed newspaper last year, it was really exciting because it was something that we weren’t able to do,” Mui stated. “Both times it’s been really exciting because it’s been different sets of challenges.”
Mui is looking forward to next year as Editor in Chief and as is the rest of The Lambert Post staff to keep writing new content for Longhorns to enjoy in the 2024-2025 school year.
