Lambert High School offers over 90 clubs and extracurricular activities for students. From sports to music, Lambert has clubs for everyone that provide avenues for students to be unique and embrace their passions — especially in art.
For students who have a strong passion for art, there are numerous opportunities to express creativity. Art Club, Crochet Club and the Creative Writing Club are extracurriculars that focus directly on creating tangible works of art. Additionally, the Photography Club and the Short Film Club work with cameras to bring images and videos to life.
For students seeking something more rigorous, The National Art Honors Society recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding interests in art. They help high-schoolers achieve scholarships, build character and help their community. The Art Honors Society dedicates their time to promoting visual arts and participating in community service through creative activities.

Zahra Fakhri is the senior co-president of the Art Club. She first joined the club as a freshman and has carried on into her senior year. Fakhri says that being an officer and active member in the Art Club is meaningful to her because she has been able to find connections with people who share her same passion for art.
“It’s a place for creativity and community, basically just having fun,” Fakhri explains. “We want to bring people with the same passion for art together,” she continued.
The Art Club is a place of community and working with peers to create pieces of art. Students are provided with opportunities to engage in collaborative projects, structured workshops and art-centered events, all intended to cultivate enriching experiences and create positive relationships.
Fakhri said that being involved in extracurriculars is important because “it’s a way to feel included, to have a community of people who share the same passion as you and to give back if you’re interested in volunteering.”
Students with a love for performance should look into Lambert’s Performing Arts clubs and organizations. To showcase instruments and sideline movement, the Colorguard and Marching Band play and perform for sports games, parades and competitions.
The Marching Band uses instruments such as various drums and horns to create high energy at football games. The Colorguard performs through choreographed movements involving batons, flags and rifles. To join Lambert’s Colorguard, students must audition in the spring to be involved by the fall. Both Colorguard and Marching Band require students to attend Band Camp over the summer, which prepares members for the upcoming season.
There are multiple dance-focused student groups at Lambert that high school students can join for a strong and welcoming community as well. Some of these include the Indian Classical Dance Club, which represents Indian culture through dance; the K-Pop Dance Club, which takes popular K-Pop hits and entertains with high energy hip-hop pieces; and the Lambert Dance Company, which learns and perfects dances to be performed in competitions, shows, and school events held each semester.
Taking the stage in the auditorium is the Acting Troupe of Lambert. Taylor Ingle, now a sophomore, first joined the

Acting Troupe in eighth grade as a technical theater intern. He was one of four freshman students to be accepted into Competition Musical Theater. Ingle was seen in the productions of “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” in the fall and “Mamma Mia!” in the spring.
There are “four acting classes, the basic Acting, Advanced Drama, Musical Theater and Competition Musical Theater,” Ingle explained.
There is a technical theater class as well that brings the productions to life. Ingle was first introduced to the Acting Troupe by his peers that encouraged him to join. During rehearsals students focus on making sure the show is well-coordinated and that everyone does their part. By joining the community, students are able to explore their interests thoroughly.
Joining the Acting Troupe is a way “to meet new people and step outside of your comfort zone,” Ingle said. The Acting Troupe stages four productions every year and are always looking for new up and coming talent.
To get into an acting or musical theater class through the Acting Troupe of Lambert, students have to audition over the summer. The directors place students into classes accordingly after the audition.
Not only does Lambert offer numerous ways for students to express their interests in art, but each one is a unique opportunity for students to enhance their leadership and individuality. Developing club participation and creating a space where everyone belongs is a key goal of many Lambert extracurricular activities.
