Humans of Lambert
Sitting outside by the tennis courts, freshmen Hanna Wood explains what it’s like to have ADHD and how it affects her life.
“When you have ADHD it’s like you can’t focus and you always have to be doing something with your hands and you tend to have a bit more energy than other people. Not a lot of people know that I have been diagnosed for ADHD but whenever I’m off my medicine people can definitely tell I’m a little bit more hyper and not focused. I can’t focus really well so I tend to tune out of conversations and get distracted really easy and go off somewhere while everyone stays in a big group. I wish people knew that even if I am hyper and not focused that I am still listening to you, and I’m not purposely ignoring you or purposely trying to bounce from friend to friend it’s just that my brain works that way.” -Hanna Wood

That is so true of Hanna, our granddaughter. I am glad she could explain herself in this article. Maybe it will provide a better understanding of her and the condition of ADHD. And I love the picture!
