At Lambert, softball holds a 34-special place in Longhorn’s hearts. Bailee Jamison, a junior on the Varsity Softball team, has been playing for 13 years, and the sport benefits her on and off the field.
“[Softball] made me a well-rounded person and made me physically and mentally stronger,” Jamison said.
Because of this growth she has seen in herself, Jamison recommends softball to any and all girls who are interested in trying a new sport.
“They should totally give it a shot and just go for it, and we have such amazing coaches who will work with you and help you get better,” Jamison explained.
Head Coach Youngblood sees softball players as an excellent representation of Longhorns with their dedication to the sport.
“The amount of effort and hard work that they put into this sport makes me so proud of them,” Youngblood said.
Head Coach Youngblood has been coaching softball for around 14 years, and he puts effort into his relationship with the players and really cares about their success as a player. As an experienced coach, Youngblood’s goal for the players every year has been the same.
“Just always keep growing and working on your skills as a team and as an individual,” Youngblood explained.
Coach Youngblood thinks that softball impacts the players by showing them what they represent as a Longhorn.
“I think it helps the girls build pride in their school and see the school in a positive light,” Youngblood said.
Lambert Softball is consistently growing each season and the Longhorns can’t wait to see what they will accomplish next.
