Fun facts about the Dumbo Octopus:
- They use their ear-like fins to glide through the water while controlling the swimming direction with their tentacles
- The Grimpoteuthis [Dumbo Octopus] lives the deepest out of any other known octopus species
- Like the Blobfish, their entire appearance changes (aside from their fins and eyes) once they are taken out of their highly pressurized environment
- The average size of a Dumbo Octopus is about 8 to 12 inches
