Sharon Forks Library: A Haven of Learning for Lambert High

Amid the enchanting Victorian-era display that has captured the imagination of families at Sharon Forks Library this holiday season, there’s another group finding immense value in this local treasure: Lambert High School students.

As families marvel at the handmade “Christmas Carol” inspired display, meticulously crafted by the library’s dedicated staff, Lambert High School students are often seen nestled in corners of the library. For these students, Sharon Forks is more than just a repository of books; it’s a sanctuary for learning, collaboration and preparation for their future.

After the school bell rings, many Lambert students make their way to the library. It’s a common sight to see them spread out across tables, deeply engrossed in homework, or huddled in groups working on collaborative projects. The library’s quiet and studious atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for these young scholars to focus and excel academically.

“I study at Sharon Folks several times a week,” Lambert senior Sophia Zhao said. “It’s a great academic environment that pushes you to focus.”

The significance of Sharon Forks Library extends beyond just a place for homework. As college application season rolls in, seniors from Lambert High find refuge in the library’s resources. With access to computers, reference materials and knowledgeable librarians, students navigate through the complex process of applying to school, seeking guidance and information to put forward their best applications.

Moreover, during the intense midterm season, the library transforms into a hub of studious activity. Students from various grades come together, forming impromptu study groups, sharing notes and quizzing each other. The collaborative spirit fostered within the walls of Sharon Forks Library is palpable, with students actively engaging and supporting each other’s academic endeavors.

While the library’s imaginative displays, like the Victorian era scene, are primarily designed to inspire younger children and ignite a love for reading and history, they also provide a unique backdrop that enriches the experience of these high school students. The creativity and dedication of the library staff in creating these displays do not go unnoticed by the older students, who often express their admiration and appreciation for these efforts.

In essence, Sharon Forks Library serves as a cornerstone in the educational journey of many Lambert students. It’s a place where they can delve into their studies, explore their academic interests and prepare for their futures, all within an environment that’s both intellectually stimulating and creatively inspiring.

“I’ve gone there for years,” Lambert alumna Emma Harwood said. “Now, as a freshman in college, I find myself going there to work whenever I’m in town. It’s a really great study spot.”
