Lambert Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) students will travel to Atlanta to compete in the district competition. DECA is a high school program that helps students develop leadership and business skills. The DECA advisors for Lambert High are the marketing teachers: Mrs. Emily Lewandowski, Ms. Cassidy Mazzei and Mr. Jason Earwood.

When a student joins DECA, he or she selects a marketing-related event to participate in, such as sports marketing, hotel and motel management, business services or a variety of other options. They master the fundamental principles of these many fields before completing a national competition.

A current member of Lambert DECA, Shawn Park, will be competing in the upcoming DECA event.

“I am excited for this event,” Park said. “This is my first time competing for Lambert DECA and I know how hard our DECA team works and I do not want to disappoint. I would love to place at least in the top five.”

Shawn will compete to represent Lambert DECA for the Business Services Operations Research at the upcoming competition. He and other members of Lambert DECA will compete with other schools from across the state and interact with key business officers at this event.
