What is Your Favorite Class?: A Student Survey
Everyone has that one class where they feel like they shine the most. Whether it be academic-based or an elective class, there is always a class you can feel proud to be in.
Although school can be exhausting and at times, feel like the pressure can be too much, there are various classes that in some cases, hit different. Personally, I am not very fond of academic classes such as math and science, but I do find them to be interesting at times.
Everyone is different though, not everyone feels the same about certain classes. In a survey from students in Forsyth County, most people voted Literature and History to be their favorite classes followed by Math and Science and lastly, Electives.
When asked what their favorite subjects in school were, students responded with many different answers.
“Epidemiology, it opens my eyes to so many of the disparities that the people around us face” Senior Shree Delwadia stated.
In Forsyth County, there are various classes one can take to pursue whatever type of passion they have. Not only does the subject in general play a role in determining which class is more interesting for students, the teachers also play an enormous role in the ultimate decision.
“AP Literature, [I] love that class not because of how many books we read, but because of how entertaining and hilarious my teachers teach in the class,” Senior Anika Bhattacharya stated.
When students have a teacher that is just as passionate about the class as they are, it is 10 times more exciting to attend class. I have had many teachers in the past that did not care about what they were teaching, so it was hard to immerse myself in the class when the effort on their part was not there. On the other hand, I have also had many teacher who have shown me a new side of the class that has opened my eyes to try researching the subject beyond the classroom setting.
In the end, school is what you make it out to be. Each subject is completely different and everyone has their own opinions and viewpoints on what classes they enjoy the most. What we can do is try to enjoy a little bit of every class because you only have 4 years, so live it up!
