Lambert’s FBLA Election Results
On January 14th, countless candidates at Lambert High ran for State and Regional officer positions for the Future Business Leaders of America. Two of the proud individuals who were elected were Hartej Singh and Vinayak Menon.
Hartej Singh was elected Regional officer, and Vinayak Menon was elected as state officer.
As an officer for FBLA, these officers would represent the county, while the state officers represent all of the state. While one state officer and one regional officer were chosen from Lambert, these nominees must further run against officers from schools all over Georgia. Two students were chosen from Lambert out of the seven that ran.
As a regional officer, Hartej says that he looks forward to bringing the community of the FBLA club at Lambert closer together.
“I think I would like to increase the community of FBLA,” Hartej says. “Because, there’s a lot of members who don’t do competitions, and they join because it’s a part of the business and computer science class. I think increasing participation and competition will increase their passion.”
Feeling that some are more distant in the club than others, he wants to branch out and involve everyone to experience the joy of FBLA. Some of these consist of including them into more of the competitions and contests that FBLA has to offer.
He says he plans to carry out these goals through creating new events, such as raffles or a range in the variety of competitions.
Vinayak Menon was chosen as the State Officer to represent Lambert High!
As the chosen state officer, Vinayak has three main goals.
The first goal he has is assisting small and struggling chapters of FBLA throughout the state, by expanding resources so they can increase the number of members in their club. His second goal is to boost communication throughout the clubs of FBLA all throughout Georgia. And his final goal is to provide assistance to the members of competitions, such as providing feedback and giving study guides.
Vinayak says he was inspired to take on this role after he found himself with many friends through the organizations
“I’ve had a really good time with FBLA, I found a lot of friends through the organization,” Vinayak said. “And I really think that it inspires me to become, you know, a better leader. And try to get into a higher position but also help other people the way FBLA has helped me and spread the benefits of FBLA.”
Both individuals worked extremely hard towards these positions and still have much more to go, from going through numerous applications to answering many interviews. Best of luck to the both of them on their journey!
