Make the Switch for Better Skin!
Taking care of your skin is very important and monitoring what products are used is essential for having great skin. The human skin is extremely reactant to outside variables. Some people are more prone to redness and itchiness than others, it depends on many things.
It is said that washing your face twice a day is the best way to get rid of excess oil and dirt on the surface. Some people wash their face twice a day and others not at all.
All people are different in many ways and react to products in different ways. The brand, St. Ives, is now recognized to be a not-so-great product to be used on the skin.
St. Ives is a facial scrub and exfoliator. It is America’s number one brand and is favored by many for leaving the skin feeling smooth and clean.
The brand can cause long-term skin damage due to the chemicals and the ingredients used in the face scrub. The exfoliant, which is a walnut shell, can make micro-tears in the skin. This leads to the tearing away of the protective skin layer.
Most dermatologists are against facial scrubs in the first place. They can irritate and inflame the face.
“Kaylee Browning and Sarah Basile filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in central California against Unilever, the parent company of St. Ives,” Ladan Abdi says in her article about St. Ives’s face scrub. “According to Top Class Actions, the plaintiffs claim the crushed walnut shells in the scrub can damage skin, and they balk at the use of “dermatologist tested” on the label.”
This facial scrub and exfoliator have been a promising brand for some time now. Dermatologists and previous users noticed toxic chemicals, irritation and inflammation.
The human skin exfoliates itself and gets rid of the dead skin particles every 28 days. Exfoliating harshly and using certain products is not vital. In some cases, it can be destructive.
Making the switch to using a gentle facial cleanser is beneficial for many reasons.
For example, using the CeraVe facial cleanser is way more gentle on the skin. It is said to take off makeup, debris and dirt while also not destroying the skin barrier.
“This is the first cosmetic brand in the world to add ceramide, cholesterol and fat esters to skin products,” an evaluating customer wrote. “This breakthrough in cosmetic technology makes skin healthier and more radiant.”
Rather than having harmful chemicals and ingredients, there is a much healthier way of cleaning the skin.
