Insight Into Marching Band
All members of Lambert High School’s marching band have been busy performing in various contests in the hopes of reaching the finals and, finally, their hard work has paid off.
Lambert High School has made it to the Bands of America Regional Finals and one of their star performers, Nathan Kim, has given an insight into how the marching band pushed to new heights this year. Kim, currently a junior, plays the clarinet for the Lambert Marching Band.
Kim explains, “Having a new director has been a welcomed yet challenging change for all of us in the band. Our marching band has worked diligently to adapt to the change and overcome these challenges. We have been able to reach higher goals than before such as making BOA Regional finals.”
Up to 32 bands compete in the preliminary competition in the BOA Regional Championships, with ten bands advancing to the evening Finals.
Nathan stated that he was nervous at first since this was a huge competitive show, but he gained confidence in his abilities after he put in the hours and practiced every day. Marching band members, like Kim, put in a lot of effort in class and after school to perfect their performances, as well as countless hours at band camp during the summer.
