The Lambert Girls Golf season is starting soon. The team has many different goals and aspirations for the season, and they are working hard to make them happen.
Senior Katie Sulko is looking forward to being more involved with the team and helping the new team members feel welcome.
Although golf is usually seen as an individual sport, Sulko’s favorite memories of the sport include having fun with the team.
“We get to do a lot of team bonding, and it’s really fun to make new friends on the team,” Sulko said.
Sulko is planning on playing golf at Oglethorpe University next year and is excited to build those close relationships with her college team as well.
Sophomore Hannah Mun hopes to play at the collegiate level as well and is working hard to continue to build her legacy at Lambert this season.
Mun wants to focus on practicing consistently and staying dedicated to the sport to do her best and improve her score.
“I want to create a more consistent and effective practice schedule,” Mun said. “A regular practice routine that will help even out all aspects of my game.”
Mun has been playing golf since she was seven years old. She keeps on playing and giving her best to the sport, and she thinks golf has helped her grow.
“Because golf is an individual sport, it allows me to focus on myself while also challenging me in multiple aspects,” Mun explained.
Junior Zoe Duval is a fan of Lambert’s team approach to the sport, and she thinks that is what makes it so special to her.
“Being able to come to Lambert and be on a team to be with people who have the same drives and passions as me was something that I really enjoyed,” Duval said.
Lambert Girls Golf won state last year and was a runner-up at Nationals. This year, they hope to outdo themselves at all competitions.
“Our goals are to continue to win the area because we’ve never lost an area tournament and to win state as well,” Duval said. “We also want to do just as well in the National Invitational.”
The team just had and won their first tournament last weekend, and they hope to continue to do their best through hard work and dedication in the season.
