Aside from Girli Girl boutique, a popular location for finding the perfect prom dress, Historic Downtown Buford has escaped the eye of the nearby public. The area is a crown-jewel, tucked away and hidden for safety. Once you find your way in, the cute downtown area pulls a baited hook. We, the nearby and uninformed consumer population, are suddenly fish out of water, experiencing fresh air for the very first time (the fish is meant to be in shock from the amazing-ness).

The original Belmont Mansion was constructed for Adelicia Acklen and her husband, Joseph, As a summer home away from their Louisiana roots. At the time they were one of the richest families in the United States; though, their wealth did not spare them from Union Army occupation of the mansion proceeding the battle of Nashville in the Civil War. Today, the mansion is open for tours, with several of the rooms restored to their original brilliance.
