TedEd is a nonprofit organization that focuses on spreading ideas using small, powerful speeches. Lambert High School is known for allowing students to find their niche in society by having diverse clubs.

The purpose of TedEd is to allow students to express their thoughts and ideologies via public speaking skills.

Bisan Malhotra, a sophomore at Lambert and officer for TedEd, has been passionate about this organization since she discovered it in 7th grade.

“Looking back at it, what makes me so proud about our members and the officer team is they all are going to finish through this event knowing something they didn’t know before,” Malhotra stated.

The exciting upcoming event is taking place on March 29th at 6:30 pm.

The theme is “Ideas Worth Discovering,” featuring13 students speaking about ways to make a difference in the community.

From topics about procrastination to financial situations, each student has a speech prepared about their passions.

Hafsa Mir, a sophomore at Lambert, is another guest speaker at this event.

The process that the members experienced throughout the year required hard work and dedication in order to prepare for this event.

“Throughout the year we have the opportunity to work on our speaking skills,” Mir stated. “We had subcommittees where we had event planning and technology, and we worked on various aspects of the event this school year.”

TedEd provides students with an opportunity especially rewarding for members who struggle with public speaking.

“I really need to focus on my public speaking skills because that is very important especially if, these days, you’re trying to get a job,” Mir explained. “So many different aspects of our lives we need these basic social skills that we can get at a TedEd event.”

This event is a great experience for any student. Whether they want to go into business, healthcare or education, everyone has the opportunity to develop public speaking skills for the future.
