Lambert Robotics proudly announces its participation in the Robotics World Championship held in Houston, Texas (@lamberthsrobotics Instagram).

Lambert Robotics will be heading to the Robotics World Competition held in Houston, Texas from April 17 to April 20

Before proceeding to Worlds, Lambert Robotics had high hopes and expectations to reach the next level. Despite being a new player in the field of robotics, Lambert Robotics has exceeded its own expectations.

“We were slightly worried due to the drastically higher level of competition that would be present at the competition,” Yash Gandhi, the team leader for Lambert Robotics explained.

Going to Worlds indicates another level of competition. 600 teams will be competing, meaning every improvement to their robot matters. During district championships, Lambert Robotics made consistent improvements to their robot to keep up with the competition.

In order to stand out compared to the rest of the competition, Lambert Robotics planned practices with several other World Championship-level teams in Georgia, helping them to get acquainted with the type of competition they could face. With an organized effort and meticulous preparation, the possibilities of how the world championship will go for Lambert are endless.

On the day of the competition, getting a schedule with good teammates can be the difference in major placement.

“We also hope to get lucky in our schedule, getting powerful teammates that can help win matches,” Gandhi explained.

On the technical side, Gandhi explained how they will add a separate mechanism that allows their robot to shoot notes (game pieces) quickly and more accurately, reducing time wasted during the match. They have worked hard to improve the accuracy of the autonomous programs and camera-based vision systems of the robot and the general build quality.

“We plan on staying on our side of the field to avoid the challenges we may face crossing the field,” Gandhi explained. “By doing this, our teammates will be able to pass us notes across the field while leaving us to score them quickly.”
