This past April, 12 of Lambert’s student-athletes representing ten sports took part in a signing event, committing to play their sport in college. In addition to the 12, swimmer Noah Saylor committed to the University of Alabama after the official signing event.
Tennis player Mara Opre credits her mentors for helping her through her journey; Mara is committed to Anderson University in South Carolina.
“I think tennis is a very mental sport and without my dad’s encouragement and his advice that he always gives me before and after matches, it means a lot,” Opre commented.
Mara also thanked Coach Pate, Lambert’s girl’s tennis coach, for his positive attitude and encouragement.
Additionally, boys soccer players Phillip Head and Mason Keith are committing to Emory University and Piedmont University, respectively.
When asked about his favorite memory of playing his sport, Kieth had a simple answer.
“My favorite memory playing Lambert was winning the state championship last year,” Keith answered.
For cheerleader Sade Ezekiel, continuing her athletic career in college was an easy option.
“What motivated me to keep continuing to play my sport in college is just my huge passion and drive. I absolutely love what I do, and I couldn’t imagine life without it. And I know deep down inside that if I just stay motivated and determined, I can accomplish anything I want to accomplish in my life.”
These athletes, combined with those who committed earlier this year, make up over 25 Lambert students who signed this school year.
