Although the Coronavirus pandemic has canceled a wide variety of events/activities, you are still able to enjoy your winter break while also being socially distanced.

If you decide to hang out with your family or friends, you will want to choose an outdoor activity because you are less likely to breathe in infected respiratory droplets due to the constant airflow.

Some examples of low-risk pastimes provided by Mayoclinic include:

  • Walking, running, and hiking
  • Rollerblading and biking
  • Fishing and hunting
  • Golfing
  • Rock or ice climbing
  • Kayaking, canoeing, diving, boating or sailing
  • Skiing, including cross-country and downhill skiing
  • Ice skating
  • Snowboarding
  • Sledding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Fitness classes, held outside or virtually, that allow distance
  • Picnics
  • Outdoor farmers markets
  • Drive-in movies

The safety of you and others should come before any activity so make sure you are taking extra precautions in order to avoid another COVID-19 spike and quarantine. This includes staying six feet away from others and wearing masks. Enjoy your winter break!!
