Last year, Lambert High School’s Mock Trial Team put up a great competition against the other schools in the county. With the season being at rest, next year’s season is soon to come.

In an interview with this year’s timekeeper, Armaan Bhasin, sophomore at Lambert High School, he said that Mock Trial was an enjoyable experience for him.

“[Mock trial] was fun to say the least,” Bhasin explained. “Working with other people and friends is great.”

The scheduling for Bhasin made Mock Trial difficult to keep up with sometimes, but the participation and effort paid off during the competition. Bhasin expects himself to stay with the mock trial team for years to come.

“I hope that we build skills that will be applicable towards building a stronger mock trial community,” Bhasin said.

In the perspective of senior Rebekkah Pei, who led the team this year, she addressed the fact that Mock Trial does take a huge time commitment. Regardless, the outcome is highly rewarding.

“Mock trial has been a unique experience for me because it’s so professional,” Pei explained. “We work with very realistic case[s] and use the real rules of evidence that all Georgia lawyers use.”

To sum it up, anyone who is interested in law would find great enjoyment in being with the team. The skills of leadership and teamwork are two skills that one can earn from being a part of the team. Creativity and being unique are a huge part of standing out during actual competition time. Mock Trial as a whole may be difficult to go through at times, but through hard work, learning, creativity and teamwork, being a part of the team is incredibly satisfying and exciting.
