Spring break is rapidly approaching, and Lambert Longhorns are more excited than ever! The week of the 3rd-8th in April is filled with anticipation as Longhorns gear up to take a much-deserved break and spend time with friends and family.

The most popular destination at Lambert High School is the beach (most specifically Florida beaches)! Many people are going to beaches such as Destin and Panama city for this spring break. Teens are already preparing their bathing suits, tans and nails to have the perfect break (at least I am).

Students can hardly contain their longing for a break from school. Julia Traldi, a senior at Lambert, expressed her excitement for her spring break.

“I am going on a spring break trip with my friends,” Traldi exclaimed. “I am so happy that I get a break from school and work.”

For many seniors, this break will be bittersweet. This is the last real break of their high school careers. Lahari Pisike, a senior at Lambert, explained her mixed feelings about this.

“Spring break my whole life has included vacations for my birthday and it’s so crazy to think that next year it won’t be the same,” Pisike explained. “I am glad to be able to celebrate my birthday with my best friends one last time.”

However, there are some safety concerns when it comes to a bunch of teenagers flooding the beaches at the same time. Underage drinking is definitely the main concern for this year. Luckily, local law enforcement all across Florida are cracking down on this issue. If someone underage is caught drinking they can expect heavy fines.

No matter where you go this spring break, I am confident that this spring break will be a very memorable one!
