Lambert’s 2023 Trunk or Treat

On Saturday, October 28, Lambert High School kicked off the Halloween weekend by holding their annual Trunk-or-Treat event in the school’s gym parking lot. The event, hosted by Lambert’s Student Government Association (SGA), has been a tradition at Lambert for years, infusing the community with a festive Halloween spirit.

This year, several clubs showcased their creativity with fun and elaborate themes. HOSA’s trunk featured a Monopoly board theme where students could roll the dice and navigate their way around tiles, similar to those found in the game. FBLA added a fun twist to bowling, inviting students to throw a ball, and if they successfully knocked down the pins, they were awarded with candy. Other clubs had a more humorous touch such as 350 Lambert who had an earth costume which interrelated with their climate change theme. FCCLA had a Scooby Doo theme, a throwback for fans of the classic series.

“It’s always so cool seeing all the creative themes each club comes up with,” Senior Class Vice President Christina Song explained.

Most clubs plan their themes much in advance to ensure they have a unique trunk that will impress all the attendees. Club officers and members work together to design their trunks with decorations, games, candy and more.

While the event usually attracts younger students, it warmly welcomes participants of all ages K-12, creating a fun, festive and family-friendly atmosphere for the Halloween celebration.

“Every year we get even more clubs participating, so hopefully next year will be even better,” Song said.

Each year, Longhorn Nation looks forward to this tradition, gearing up for a spooky and exciting time. After another successful Trunk-or-Treat, students and families are looking forward to all that is to come with the event next year.
