Lambert senior Ethan Burrell has been a key member of the Lambert High School basketball program since his freshman year. Ethan has had a successful and memorable high school career despite losing his final game.

Burrell played as a power forward during his time at Lambert. Burrell stated that even though he did not get much playing time this season, he made an effort to never miss a day of practice. Despite not being able to play every game as a starter, he was still able to average 4 points per game in the limited time he was on the court. Burrell’s unrivaled dedication and hard work enabled him to become an outstanding player, leaving an impact on the varsity team.

“I loved playing for Lambert.” Burrell said. “It is a bittersweet goodbye to a team that shaped who I am and who I will probably become. Lambert Basketball is something I will never forget.”

Burrell found that their game against Denmark was the most memorable. The Lambert basketball team won Region 6-7A on Thursday at West Forsyth High School, defeating the Denmark Danes (54-46). He described the game as “energetic,” and he praised one of his teammates, James Tyre, for his dazzling performance that day.

In Lambert’s most recent game, the team had a heartbreaking loss against Walton High School (63-49). Burrell wishes he had had time on the court in his final game, but he wishes the best for his team and urges them to never give up in future seasons. This season he wanted to give the team the motivation to succeed.

“I did not get to play often this year but I loved being a part of the Lambert family,” Burrell remarked. “I want the team to never give up and bring home the championships,”

Burrell will graduate this year, but his legacy will go on in perpetuity. He is a scholastic athlete who practiced every day and gave his all to basketball. He intends to continue his academics in college.
