Lambert’s Senior Assassin began the first week of March and crowned their winners, Isaac Rodriguez and Ryder Grinnell on April 1, 2026. Senior Assassin’s objective is to eliminate duos by shooting them with a water gun. The game started with just over 220 players and lasted four rounds before the final two were standing.
“Honestly to start the game we were not really worried and the strategy was just to kill our targets as fast as we can,” Rodriguez mentioned. “Throughout the month, we had to adjust to what everyone else was doing and really focus on getting kills.”
The duo started with the strategy of just eliminating targets, but it began to change throughout the month. The boys were tested early in the game when Grinnell was unexpectedly eliminated in the first round of the game. This left Rodriguez as a solo player, but Grinnell remained an essential player behind the scenes.
“When Ryder got out, I honestly did not think we would win,” Rodriguez shared. “Because Ryder was very helpful at the beginning because he was always ready to go and get kills. When he got out it was just me, so it was harder to get people out.”
As the game continued, the duo became more strategic in order to get out more difficult targets.
“You have to be aggressive, sneaky and prepared to spend money,” Grinnell noted. “Our momentum completely changed throughout the game because we switched to pay to win.”
In the final round, round four, the duo was in the lead only by a few kills. In order to help solidify the win, they used their friend Ethan Robertson to help trick Liam Fanning into going into his house. Rodriguez was waiting inside and got the kill, putting them further into the lead.
“Liam was definitely the hardest person to eliminate,” Rodriguez explained. “We had to make a whole game plan for him, thanks to Ethan for the help we got the kill!”
Grinnell described the last two days of the game as extremely stressful. There were many game plans throughout the remaining teams and everyone was lying in order to get more kills.
“It was very stressful because there was no truth going on,” Grinnell said. “We got very lucky that we were at the right place at the right time.”
Reflecting on his experience throughout the game, Rodriguez has some advice for future seniors planning on playing.
“My advice next year is just don’t lose motivation because people will not want to play anymore,” Rodriguez shared. “So keep playing and see where it takes you.”
Rodriguez and Grinnell serve as an example of what to follow for the rising seniors set to play Senior Assassin. Their journey shows that winning comes from staying determined, being resourceful and strategizing throughout the game.
