No More Lunch and Learn?

On the morning of Monday, January 22, teachers received an email from Administration regarding the suspension of the Lunch and Learn periods. Students have been vandalizing the restrooms, breaking the faucets and attempting to flush them down the toilet. The email said that if students continued to do this, then Lunch and Learn would be suspended until Tuesday, January 30.

Around seventh or eighth period on Monday, January 22, teachers received another email from Administration regarding the suspension. Classes became longer, and the period was split into 25 minutes of lunch and 25 minutes of study hall.

Lunch and Learn allowed students to have time to work, study, and relax between classes. Most people were dependent on this period, so its removal affected many students. Freshman Namritha Sankarkumar is one of many students who noticed the immediate effects.

“I hear a lot of people are very angry about whoever did this,” she said. “Most of our friends are separated, and lunch is really short.”

Administration stopped the suspension on Tuesday, January 30, due to no vandalism occurring since Monday. Lunch and Learn will be continued but the possibility of it being suspended again can happen.
