On April 4th, Lambert High School’s lunch was changed from the Lunch and Learn system to a different schedule consisting of 4 lunch blocks. In this schedule, students had to eat lunch in their 5th or 6th period class and could not go to other areas of the school to study  The reason given for the change was due to misbehavior from certain students during Lunch and Learn.

Lambert student Kevin Ryu told me “I didn’t think it was that bad at first, but now I hate it because it makes the school week way longer.”

“It took a toll on me because I couldn’t see my friends,” Avi Karamchandari stated. “I don’t think it will come back this year, if anything it might come next year.”

Soon enough on April 13th, it was announced that the normal Lunch and Learn system would return, with administrators saying that there would be expectations for students to behave appropriately in order for the privilege of Lunch and Learn to remain.

While the sudden return of Lunch and Learn is a surprise, it sure is a welcome one. Hopefully, the warnings to students who malign themselves with the system will deter them from aggravating administrators so that students and teachers can return to normalcy and be able to keep it.
