Sophomore Class President and varsity tennis player Bella Brown is an amazing addition to the Longhorn community, bringing her light and energy to school everyday. She has been pushing to be the best she can be at Lambert and getting out of her comfort zone.
Brown has been playing tennis since she was five years old and has loved being on the Lambert team. This upcoming season, she wants to become a captain and become more involved on the team.
“I just think I can take a more leadership role on this team, last year I was just kind of a follower and trying to make my way around,” Brown shared.
As a leader, Brown hopes to help the team grow closer together and bond, especially with the team losing 16 seniors last year.
“This year, I’m gonna make people comfortable and really take leadership,” Brown emphasized.
She hopes to have more team bonding events and be a friend to everyone on the team.
Brown is also Sophomore Class President and was elected last spring. Campaigning is one of her favorite parts of having an officer position, and she’s excited to do it next year as well.
“One of my favorite parts about [student council] is actually running for it, because last year I dressed up as a sheep and walked down the halls, and it was so fun,” Brown said.
As president this year, Brown hopes to be seen as kind and open, setting a strong example for the rest of the sophomore class.
“Whenever I walk around the hall, I try to give hugs and be really open, because I want people to have that kind of energy,” Brown mentioned. “I want them to pick up my energy because I’m leading them.”
For a lot of Lambert students, it can be easy to get lost in classes and extracurriculars. Brown hopes to set healthy habits for exam season, especially during midterms. As a busy student-athlete, she recommends preparing for tests early, not cramming the night before.
Brown also recommends finding things to love outside of school so that academic stress is easier to handle.
“Because Lambert is so competitive, I just want there to be more life and positivity,” Brown said.
“I just want people to have a good feeling.”
Brown hopes to always be a friend, teammate and president who can bring people together and spread positivity in spite of school pressure.
In the past, Brown was more of an introvert but is now proudly leading and being a part of the “good feeling” at Lambert. She hopes to be a person who can continue to lead with positivity on and off the court.
