The Lambert Varsity Volleyball team has already cocked back the trigger, aiming straight for a successful season. With the season in play, the future success and achievements the team hopes to make are looking good.
Varsity head coach, Missey Hall has been at Lambert for 10 years, and is currently coaching Women’s Volleyball.
The varsity team is thus far undefeated in their region tournament, and the team is training and practicing hard for their upcoming state playoffs. Their goal is to place first in their division and win in the state championships.
At the beginning of the season, the team set a goal to get a third consecutive regional championship, and to make it to the state competition. Last year, they missed making the championship game by one match and lost in the Final Four.
Not only did the year end with missed opportunities, but with the impact of COVID-19, their lineup was constantly changing, with many players missing out on practice for more than a week at time.
With the major setbacks they faced last year, the team feels they have unfinished business, motivating them to work exceptionally hard this year. Their perseverance has led Coach Hall to have high expectations for this varsity team.
“This is arguably one of the most talented groups that we’ve ever had [at] Lambert,” Coach Hall noted.

The talent that the team has demonstrated through their winning streak, along with their ability to recover quickly from their losses can only be described as special.
Their work has become a tradition and culture, making them unlike any other team in Forsyth.
“Without it [their tradition and culture], I don’t think we’d be as good as we are,” varsity setter Nithi Karthikeyan said.
Lambert’s Volleyball team’s success has made other teams in the county and state to aspire and look up to the standards they have established.
