The 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series begins October 24th with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays, at the Blue Jays’ stadium at 8 pm. Students and coaches at Lambert High School are following every inning of the series. The matchup between these two teams has sparked excitement across the halls, as fans are creating bold predictions on who will be crowned the winner.
For Lambert baseball fans, this World Series is sure to be a good one, as the Blue Jays were tied for first place in the American League and the Dodgers were third in the National League. Thus, it’s going to be interesting as to who people are favoring to win this year.
“I think the LA Dodgers will win the series this year because of their recent performance,” junior Chase Nightingale, who is a baseball fan, claimed.
At Lambert High School, many fans have been following the come up to the series, discussing who will ultimately come out on top. The Dodgers bring one of the league’s strongest pitching staffs, while the Blue Jays showcase a true underdog story, making the World Series after 32 years. This has caused an increased attention towards the sport.
Furthermore, students at Lambert seem to be intrigued about sports such as football or basketball; however, baseball is becoming a very popular sport among students as well. With Lambert’s Baseball team receiving more and more students to try out each year, the sport seems to be getting a lot of attention. Additionally, with the World Series arriving, it will surely add more support to the sport and thus make it a more popular sport.
“I think baseball is a popular sport at Lambert due to the energy of the team and the intensity of the game,” Nightingale stated.
With the baseball fandom at Lambert growing increasingly, it will be interesting to see the environment around the World Series in the halls and classrooms. Moreover, as more people get involved in the World Series, that spike of interest could accumulate towards the Lambert Baseball team as well.
With the increased support for baseball around Lambert, fans are becoming more divided and the environment around the World Series is becoming more competitive, demonstrating the love the students have for the game.
Furthermore, many students at Lambert – who are tuned into the MLB – are Atlanta Braves fans; however, the Braves are not in the World Series. With their home team out, students have turned their attention to the two teams in the series – often choosing sides based on their favorite players.
“I think Lambert students will cheer for the LA Dodgers due to the energy of the team and the intensity of the game,” Nightingale said.
With the World Series creeping up, it has brought a new, exciting energy to Lambert. Students are having an increased desire to talk about and learn about the sport. Whether it’s a casual fan or a devout baseball fan, the series has sparked conversations between students in the hallways and classrooms. Even with the home team out, the series has become a focal point for sports fans at Lambert.
