After claiming the 6 AAAAAA region title and finishing 26-3, with a Sweet Sixteen finish last season. The Lambert Boys basketball team entered the 2025-2026 season strong with a 76-64 win over Parkview High School in their pre-season scrimmage.
Starting his third year on the team, junior Patrick Blanchard is excited to get back to work with his team to go further into the State Playoffs than the year before.
“Goals for the team this season is to play together, win the region championship and go to the elite eight in the state tournament,” Blanchard noted.
The team has been working tirelessly during practice and in the offseason to stay conditioned individually as players. The team’s hard work and dedication sets them apart from their competition and prepares them for their long season ahead.
With a region championship and a deep playoff run on their mind, the team has a season full of challenging non-region and region games to come. The more games the team is able to win, the higher seeding they have in their playoff bracket, strengthening their chances of having a deep playoff run.
“Our biggest competition this year is Norcross and Archer High Schools because they are big non-region games and would be great wins,” Blanchard shared.
With tough competition comes a need for intense mental preparation. The players individually and as a team have to maintain a positive mindset and attitude throughout the season. The team prepares together before games to get into the right mindset before big season games.
“After we finish our warmup, we all come together and say a prayer as a team before every game,” Blanchard shared.
With their strong team energy, mindset and desire to win, Lambert Boys Basketball is ready to kick off their regular season on November 8 at Archer High School and start chasing their ultimate goal of winning the region and going further into their playoff run.
