The spotlight is set to shine on the Lambert Dance Team this weekend as they host and compete in their very first competition of the season on December 13, 2025.
Team captain, Daniella Salas is excited to kick off her junior season. With a blend of returning veterans and enthusiastic rookies, the team is ready to showcase their hard work and unique team spirit.
“The team dynamic this season is different from all of our previous seasons because we have a lot of rookies this year, so it has been so fun getting to know everyone and creating a team that works well together,” Salas shared.
The team’s bond strengthens with their demanding practice schedule, such as early morning practices, translating directly to their on-stage presence.
“Our team stands out because we are very strong in the hiphop category and we all have a tight bond that really stands out on the competition floor,” Salas noted.
Leadership plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive environment. Salas sees her role as one of encouragement and support, fostering an environment where every dancer is comfortable and succeeding.
“I feel like being a captain has given me the opportunity to lead by example, especially by keeping a good attitude during practice,” Salas noted. “I also try to be available and offer help to my teammates in or out of practice so we can all grow together as a team.”
Junior Lauren Hall is also a key member of the leadership squad, as the choreography chair. She focuses on creating a strong environment when choreographing the team’s routines.
“I try to encourage them [her teammates] as much as possible when learning new things because being in a positive learning environment is how we thrive best as dancers,” Hall shared. “I also try to make sure that they feel comfortable to ask questions so they can have the best learning experience possible while still improving individually.”
While focused on Saturday’s competition, the team has a long-term goal for the season — making it to the State competition. The team has made it to State the past four years and hopes to continue their streak.
The Lambert Dance Team is excited to kick off their season on Saturday and will continue to work hard each week to accomplish their goal.
