On Nov. 13, 2025, Lambert’s Flag Football team won their region championship against South Forsyth High School. The team won 13-7, marking their 12th straight win and their excellence in the Forsyth county conference. With the team losing to McEachern High School at the Mercedes Benz stadium in last year’s state championship, the team is looking to bounce back and win it all this year.
In fact, Lambert’s Flag football team won a crucial game last week during a significant turning point, as Abby Flynt made a crucial stop. This win put them at the top of their division, showing how dominant the team is this year.
“Early in the 4th quarter, South [Forsyth] had about a 4th and 10 and Abby Grace Flynt made an unbelievable play to stop them short for the 1st down,” Head Coach Nate Richardson explained.
This win not only signifies the superiority of Lambert Flag Football, but also illustrates the amount of morale the players gained from winning the game, as their motivation only goes up. This momentum should carry over to the playoffs as well, as the team seeks to win their first championship in school history.
“We have some really, really good players. Our team speed is elite and the fact we had a lot of returning players…that can’t be replaced.” Coach Richardson stated.
With strong players in place, the team has high hopes of being the best in the state of Georgia. Additionally, with returning players coming back, the team will have an irreplaceable advantage on their side. With returning players on the team it will boost the team’s chemistry.
Moving on, last year, Lambert, suffered a devastating loss to McEachern High School in the state championship. As of right now McEachern and Lambert are both at the top of their regional divisions. However, where they differ is at the national level. McEachern is ranked 84th in the nation, which is worse than Lambert who is ranked 60th in the nation. With McEachern being ranked lower than Lambert this year, it could potentially mean that Lambert could be a championship contender in their division. The question remains though: how will Lambert bounce back from last year’s devastating loss?
“They’re motivated…but they understand that before we get there, we have to take care of what’s right in front of us, and that’s round one of the post-season,” Richardson claimed.
Overall, the Lambert Flag Football team continues to place their mark as a strong team in the sport. They have won 12 straight games and are looking forward to making a big splash in the post-season. They have all the key pieces in place: returning players and motivation. The end goal, however, is to bring the State Championship home, and Lambert is wishing the team luck as they progress forward.
