The Lambert Longhorns suffered a tough loss against the South Forsyth War Eagles last Friday night. They lost by over thirty points and dropped their record to four and one. South Forsyth added to their winning streak and undefeated record of 3-0, crushing the Longhorns with their explosive offense.

Lambert opened the game deferring on the toss and immediately struggled on defense, unable to prevent South’s consecutive touchdown drives. Most notably, the longhorns were deceived by a fake hand off-putting the Eagles in a two-point lead. To end the first quarter, Lambert had their initial first down but were limited by a holding penalty and an Eagle sack. Longhorn quarterback, Ashton Smith gave South Forsyth an additional two points due to an intentional grounding call at the end of the first half. With South’s monstrous lead, Lambert’s points were useless in a possible comeback.

Lambert Longhorn head coach Tommy Watson explained, “They beat us in two phases of the game… we didn’t play well. We struggled to block them all night.”

Ending the night with under three hundred yards of total offense, it’s obvious this was Lambert’s worst game this season. However, the Longhorn’s previous dominations prove that they are better than their performance against the Eagles and should not be forgotten about. Lambert will be using their week off to prepare for their next game against the 3-1 Gainesville Elephants on October 16th.
