On the 10th of November, one of the major events for the athletic department took place, the first official college signing event for our senior class of 2022.

According to Athletic Director, Drew Ferrer, we are already on track for this year to have one of the most college signings in a year ever. With just this first event, we already have 14 athletes officially signed to continue competing in their sport at the collegiate level.

The most signings Lambert has ever had in a single year is around 42 athletes and with November signings leading us off to a strong start, Coach Ferrer believes there is a possibility that this year can break that record.

“I think the most we have ever had is [about] 40 to 42 kids sign, and being around the 14 mark [already] I imagine we are going to be pretty close to that,” Ferrer explained.

On top of the clear impression that this very high number of initial signees had on Ferrer, he also mentioned that he feels the class of 2022 has had outstanding athletic results. The class has achieved major accomplishments across all sports ranging from individual recognition to top-tier performance from a whole team.

“We have seen a lot of accomplishments, through region championships, through state championships, through region runner-ups and state runner-ups and national championships, and directors cups, it is a very good class,” Ferrer said.

The class’s accomplishments are extremely impressive and have undoubtedly added to Lambert’s reputation as one of the highest athletically achieving schools in the state.

One of the last things coach Ferrer had to say about the event was how impressed he was with the size of the schools that some players were attending.

“Some of the schools that they have been signing to really surprise me,” Ferrer said. “Parker Brosius is going to Georgia Tech for baseball, Dvorsky is going to Clemson, Paddy is going to UNC Wilmington, there [are] just a bunch of those kids who are doing great things.”

These are massive schools and they will definitely put our players on the national stage so be sure to look for their accomplishments in the future!
